  • 2 - When the sale is over, how do I get paid?

You receive a check after each auction, along with a complete details inventory sheet and a financial settlement statement of sold items.

  • 3 - When the sale is over, in what condition do you leave my home?

We do a "broom cleaning" of your home, so it is left clean. We will place trash where you direct for your local refuse company.

  • 4 - My home is currently for sale, so do I need to remove it from the market prior to the auction?

No, we will work with your Realtor so that we do not interfere with buyer showings, inspections, appraisers, insurance agents, etc.

  • 5 - What happens if there are hidden items, photos, letters, or personal pages found during sorting?

These items will immediately be set aside, along with any items that seem too personal to sell.

We will usually have you come and retrieve these items. If you are out of town, we will mail these to you. We will not sell these items without your permission.

  • 6 - How long, from preparation to completion, is an Auction Sale?

To properly advertise your auction, clean and organize the personal property for sale, to conduct the auction and insure time to meet any buyers who can not take every item with them on auction day - it can take up to 30 days to complete your auction. We can conduct an auction in less time, but please remember advertising needs at least 2 weeks to reach the maximum number of buyers.

  • 7 - Do's and Do Not's for a successful sale:

A successful sale depends on many factors, and here are some suggested Do's and Don't's:

    • Don't throw away anything until we've had the opportunity to sort through it with you.
    • Don't refinish, paint or power-clean any items until we have looked at them, as cleaning can devalue an item.
    • Items in the garage and out buildings should also be included in a sale.
  • 8 - How does SRL Auctions get paid?

SRL Auctions is paid a percentage of the net proceeds total sale.  We never ask you for out of pocket money prior to any sale.
